Walking
From the Suomenlinna main ferry pier, the Suomenlinna Museum is located within the Suomenlinna Centre, a short walk away. Follow the main path from the pier, heading towards the center of the island. The Suomenlinna Centre is located by the Artillery Bay. The walk is approximately 5-10 minutes. Note that the paths in Suomenlinna are mostly cobblestone, so wear appropriate footwear.
Public Transport
The primary way to reach Suomenlinna is by ferry from Helsinki's Market Square (Kauppatori). HSL ferries operate year-round, departing approximately every hour. During peak season, ferries depart more frequently. The journey takes about 15-20 minutes. A single ticket costs €3 and can be purchased from ticket machines at the Market Square or via the HSL app. Suomenlinna is located in HSL ticket zone A. With the Helsinki Card, the ferry journey is free. From the Suomenlinna main ferry pier, follow the walking directions to reach the Suomenlinna Museum.
