Walking
Tervasaari is easily accessible by foot from the Pohjoisranta street on the eastern edge of Helsinki's city center. From the city center, walk north towards the waterfront. Follow Pohjoisranta street eastward until you reach the Tervasaarenkannas causeway, which connects to the island. The walk from the city center takes approximately 15-20 minutes. No costs are associated with walking.
Public Transport
To reach Tervasaari via public transport, take a train, metro, bus, or tram to a stop near the city center. Tram lines 2 and 3 will take you to the 'Kauppatori' stop. From there, walk north towards Pohjoisranta street and continue east to the Tervasaarenkannas causeway. Alternatively, take the metro to 'Kaisaniemi' station and walk towards the waterfront, following signs to Pohjoisranta and Tervasaari. A single public transport ticket within Helsinki costs approximately €2.80 - €3.20.
