    The Jyväskylä Art Museum is located on Kauppakatu 23, in the city center, across from Kirkkopuisto park. From the Kompassinaukio square, it's a short 3-minute walk. Simply head east on Kauppakatu. The museum will be on your right.

  • Public Transport

    The Jyväskylä Art Museum can be reached by local bus. The closest bus stops are 'Museo 2' on Hannikaisenkatu and 'Yliopisto 1' on Keskussairaalantie. From either stop, it is a short walk to Kauppakatu 23. A single ticket costs €4.00 when purchased with cash from the driver, or €2.70 with a debit/credit card or via the Linkki mobile app.

    For those arriving by car, disabled parking is available at Kauppakatu 23, in front of the art museum. Paid parking is available nearby at Alvar Aallon katu 9. Disc parking is available at the corner of Kramsunkatu and Keskussairaalantie (Kramsunkatu 10). Parking disc must be displayed. Multi-story car parks are available in the city center for longer stays.

The Jyväskylä Art Museum is a regional art museum dedicated to showcasing contemporary art, printmaking and art from the Central Finland region. Located in the Holvi building on Kauppakatu, the museum is across from Kirkkopuisto church park. The museum's exhibitions offer insightful experiences, displaying Finnish and international graphic art and drawing. The museum organizes 3-4 main exhibitions every year, in addition to smaller gallery exhibitions. The third floor features the Ilmiö art space, offering a fun way to engage with art and science, particularly captivating for families with children. Visitors can also participate in workshops, including free Friday workshops. The museum shop offers a wide selection of products, including postcards, art books, jewelry, and local art products. Founded in 1998, the Jyväskylä Art Museum was previously the Fine Arts Department of the Alvar Aalto Museum. In collaboration with the Centre for Creative Photography, the museum maintains the Ratamo Printmaking and Photography Centre, which includes the Galleria Ratamo, printmaking workshop, photography studio and artist workspaces, located in Jyväskylä's former roundhouse.
