Getting There

  • Walking

    From the Jyväskylä city center, the Museum of Central Finland is easily accessible on foot. From the main market square (Kauppatori), walk north along Kauppakatu street. Turn left onto Yliopistonkatu, and then turn right onto Seminaarinkatu. Continue onto Alvar Aallon katu. The museum will be on your left, in the Ruusupuisto park. The walk is approximately 1 km and takes about 15 minutes.

    The Museum of Central Finland is well-served by local buses (Linkki). From the Jyväskylä Travel Centre, take any bus that stops near the University of Jyväskylä. Alight at the 'Yliopisto' stop on Seminaarinkatu. From there, walk along Seminaarinkatu and turn left onto Alvar Aallon katu. The museum will be on your left. A single bus ticket costs €4.00 when purchased with cash from the driver or €2.70 if using a mobile app or contactless payment.

  • Driving

    If driving, navigate to Alvar Aallon katu 7, 40600 Jyväskylä. Parking is available in the vicinity, but it can be limited. Street parking is available for €3.00 per hour on weekdays from 8 am to 8 pm and on Saturdays from 8 am to 4 pm. Parking garages are also available, such as P-Hannikaisenkatu, where parking costs €2.50 per hour or €11.00 for 24 hours. Free parking is available at the City Hall yard (Hannikaisenkatu 17) on weekdays after 4 pm and on weekends.
