Car

To reach Iivaara by car, start from Kuusamo and drive south on Route 5 (E63). After approximately 31 km, look for signs for Iivaara and turn onto Hiltusentie Road. Continue on Hiltusentie Road and turn onto Suokannanvaarantie Road. Drive until a forest road diverges to the right, leading to the parking area. Note that during winter, road conditions may be challenging.

From the Oulanka National Park Visitor Centre, hike approximately 8 km to Iivaara, following marked trails.
