From Kuusamo, take the E75 road (also known as the North Finland Road) heading north. After approximately 30 kilometers, turn onto the Riisitunturintie road, which is well-marked. Follow Riisitunturintie for about 12 kilometers, and you will reach the parking area of Riisitunturi National Park located at Riisitunturintie, 97925 Tolva. The total driving time is approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour, depending on your starting point. Parking is available near the entrance to the park, and there is no parking fee.

  • Public Transportation

    For those using public transportation, take a bus from Kuusamo to Ruka, which is the nearest major hub. The bus ride takes about 30 minutes. From Ruka, you will need to take a taxi or arrange for a local shuttle to reach Riisitunturi National Park, as public transport does not directly operate to the park. Taxis can be found at the Ruka bus station, and you should expect to pay around 40-60 euros for the taxi ride to the park entrance, which is about a 20-minute drive.
