Public Transport - Bus
From Kuopio city center, walk to the Kuopio Bus Station (Kuopion linja-autoasema) located at Kauppakatu 24, which is about a 10-minute walk from the central market. Once at the bus station, take bus number 7 or 8 towards Puijo. Buses run every 30 minutes, so check the schedule at the station or online. The ride to the Puijo area takes approximately 15-20 minutes. Get off at the Puijo stop, and you will see signs directing you to the Puijo observation tower and hiking trails.

If you prefer to walk, start from the Kuopio Market Square (Kauppatori), which is a central point in Kuopio. Head east on Kauppakatu, then turn left onto Rautalammintie. Continue straight until you reach the Puijo hill area. This is a scenic route that takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes (approximately 5 km). As you walk, you can enjoy the local scenery and perhaps stop at some cafes along the way.

Rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops near the Kuopio city center. After renting your bike, head towards the Puijo area by following the bike path along Rautalammintie.
