Getting There

  • Public Transport

    From Helsinki, take a train to Kouvola or Mäntyharju. During summer, some trains also stop at Hillosensalmi. From Kouvola, take a local bus (routes 5, 15, 15A, or 15B) to Lapinsalmi or Orilampi. From Mäntyharju, there is a 33km hiking trail to Repovesi. Bus tickets from Kouvola to Repovesi cost around €3-€5. A shared taxi from Kouvola Travel Centre to Lapinsalmi is also available.

  • Car

    Repovesi National Park is located west of Highway 15 (Kouvola-Mikkeli road). It is approximately 175 km from Helsinki and 50 km from Kouvola. There are three main entrances: Lapinsalmi, Tervajärvi, and Saarijärvi, each with parking areas. Parking is free. Be aware that the road running through the park is closed with gates. Hikers should use Tervajärvi and Saarijärvi parking areas.
