Getting There

  • Driving

    The easiest way to reach The Upper Forge is by car. From Helsinki, take the E18 highway east towards Loviisa. After passing Loviisa, look for signs pointing to "Strömforsin ruukki". Follow the signs to Ruukintie, where you'll find the ironworks. Parking is available on site. Note that parking availability may be limited during peak season.

    You can take a bus from Helsinki to Ruotsinpyhtää. From Helsinki, take an Onnibus to the Ruotsinpyhtää junction (exit 68). From there, it's about 6 km to the Strömfors Ironworks. You can order a taxi from Taxi Transport Hill (0400-105465) to cover the final distance. A taxi ride will cost approximately €15-€20.

    If you are already within the Strömfors Ironworks area, The Upper Forge is easily accessible on foot. Follow the signs within the village to Kartanomäentie. The Upper Forge is located within a short walking distance of the main attractions in the area.
