Car
If you are driving, start from the center of Pyhä-Luosto National Park. Head towards the main road, Route 964, and take it east. Continue on Route 964 for approximately 20 kilometers until you reach the small town of Pelkosenniemi. Follow the signs towards Peurakero, which will lead you into the national park. The parking area near Peurakero is accessible, and from there, you can start your hike towards the site, which is about a 3 km walk from the parking.

Public Transportation
For those using public transport, take a bus from Rovaniemi to Pelkosenniemi. The bus service is operated by Matkahuolto, and you can check their schedule online for the latest departure times. Once you arrive in Pelkosenniemi, you will need to either walk or arrange a taxi to take you to the national park entrance. The distance from the bus stop to Peurakero is about 6 km, so plan for a short taxi ride or a longer hike.

If you are already in the national park and wish to hike to Peurakero, start from the nearest trailhead, which can be accessed from the main visitor center. Follow the marked trails towards Peurakero. The hike is scenic and will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Make sure to wear proper hiking shoes and bring water and snacks, as the trails can be rugged.
