Getting there

Car

If you are traveling by car, start from the center of Ruka. Head east on Rukatunturintie road. Continue on this road for approximately 10 kilometers until you reach the junction with the E75 highway. Merge onto E75 towards Kuusamo. After about 15 kilometers, take the exit towards Kuusamo and continue straight for another 10 kilometers. When you see signs for Oulanka National Park, turn left onto Oulankajärventie road. Follow this road for about 5 kilometers, and you will find the parking area for Ristikallio Cliffs on your right. Make sure to park and prepare for a short hike to the cliffs.

Public Transportation

If you prefer public transportation, begin your journey at the Ruka bus stop. Take a bus heading towards Kuusamo. You will need to check the local bus schedules for exact times and routes, but buses generally run several times a day. Disembark at the Kuusamo bus station. From there, you can take a taxi to Oulanka National Park, which is approximately 20 kilometers away. Taxis can be booked via local services, and costs may vary but expect to pay around 30-50 euros. Once you arrive at the park, follow the indicated trails to Ristikallio Cliffs.

Hiking

For the adventurous, you can hike to the Ristikallio Cliffs from the nearest parking area in Oulanka National Park. From the parking area, follow the marked hiking trails, which are well-maintained and easy to navigate.
