Getting There

• Car

  If you are starting from the center of Big Bend National Park, head east on US-90 E toward TX-385. Continue on US-90 E until you reach the junction with I-10 E. Merge onto I-10 E and continue for approximately 90 miles until you reach Exit 101 for FL-29 S toward Immokalee. Take FL-29 S for about 30 miles until you reach the intersection with US-41. Turn right onto US-41 S and follow it for about 10 miles. Finally, turn left onto Coast Line Dr, and you will find the entrance to Fakahatchee Strand Preserve State Park at 137 Coast Line Dr, Copeland, FL 34137.

• Public Transportation

  While public transportation options are limited, you can take a Greyhound bus from Alpine, TX to Naples, FL. Once in Naples, you will need to use a taxi or a rideshare service like Uber or Lyft to reach Fakahatchee Strand Preserve State Park. The distance from Naples to the park is approximately 30 miles, and the taxi fare may range from $50 to $80, depending on traffic and time of day.

• Bicycle

  For the adventurous, cycling from nearby areas is an option. If you are in Naples, you can bike south on US-41 for about 30 miles. Take care, as this highway has heavy traffic. Once you reach Coast Line Dr, follow it until you arrive at the park entrance. Make sure to wear a helmet, and bring plenty of water and snacks.
