Car
If you are driving, head towards the north end of Captiva Island and take Captiva Drive towards the Sanibel Causeway. Follow the signs to Sanibel Island. Once on Sanibel, continue on Periwinkle Way until you reach the intersection with Tarpon Bay Road. Turn left onto Tarpon Bay Road and follow it until you reach Bowman's Beach Road. Take a right onto Bowman's Beach Road, and you will find the parking area for Bowman's Beach at 1700 Bowmans Beach Rd. Note that there is a parking fee, so be prepared to pay. The beach is open from 7 AM to 7 PM.
Public Transportation
If you are using public transportation, you will first need to get to the closest bus stop on Sanibel Island, which can be accessed via the Lee County Public Transit system. Board the bus that heads towards Sanibel Island and get off at the stop closest to Periwinkle Way. From there, you will need to either walk or use a rideshare service to reach Bowman's Beach. Walking from Periwinkle Way to Bowman's Beach is about a 30-minute walk, so plan accordingly. Remember to check the bus schedule ahead of time for the best travel times.
Bicycle
Another option is to rent a bicycle. There are rental shops on Captiva Island and Sanibel Island. If you choose to bike, head towards the Sanibel Causeway, then ride along the bike paths that lead to Bowman's Beach. This route is scenic and offers a great way to enjoy the local wildlife and scenery. Ensure you have a bike lock and be mindful of the parking regulations at the beach.
