If you are driving to Bowman's Beach Park, head to the main road on Captiva Island, Captiva Drive, and follow it south towards Sanibel Island. You will eventually reach the causeway that connects Captiva to Sanibel. Once on Sanibel Island, continue on Periwinkle Way until you reach the intersection with Tarpon Bay Road. Turn left onto Tarpon Bay Road and follow it until you see the signs for Bowman's Beach. Turn right onto Bowman's Beach Road and continue until you reach the parking area at 1700 Bowmans Beach Rd. Note that there is a parking fee of $5 per vehicle.
Public Transportation
For those relying on public transportation, you can use the Sanibel Island Trolley service. Catch the trolley from key locations in Captiva, such as the Captiva Island Inn or the South Seas Island Resort. The trolley will take you along the main routes on Sanibel Island. Disembark at the closest stop to Bowman's Beach Park, which is typically along Periwinkle Way. From there, it is approximately a 20-minute walk to Bowman's Beach Park, where you will need to navigate Bowman's Beach Road to reach the parking area. Be sure to check the trolley schedule for the most current times and fares.
Bicycle
If you prefer biking, you can rent a bicycle from several rental shops on Captiva Island. Follow Captiva Drive south towards the Sanibel Causeway and onto Sanibel Island. Use the bike paths along Periwinkle Way and Tarpon Bay Road to safely navigate to Bowman's Beach Park. This route is scenic and gives you a chance to enjoy the local wildlife and scenery. There is a bike rack available at Bowman's Beach for parking your bike. Remember to wear a helmet and be cautious of traffic.
