Car
If you are traveling by car from anywhere in Captiva Island, start by heading south on Captiva Drive towards Sanibel Island. Follow Captiva Drive until you reach the Captiva/Sanibel Causeway. Cross the causeway and continue onto Periwinkle Way. Follow Periwinkle Way until it becomes Tarpon Bay Road. Continue on Tarpon Bay Road and turn left onto Pine Island Road (FL-78). After about 8 miles, turn right onto Sesame Drive. The Museum of the Islands will be located on your left at 5728 Sesame Dr, Bokeelia, FL 33922.

If you prefer public transportation, you will need to take a taxi or rideshare service from Captiva Island to the nearest public transit hub, which is on Sanibel Island. From there, you can take the Lee Tran bus service (Route 50) towards Pine Island. Get off at the nearest stop to Pine Island Road, and from there, you will need to either walk (approximately 1 mile) or arrange for a local taxi to take you to the Museum of the Islands located at 5728 Sesame Dr, Bokeelia, FL 33922. Be sure to check the bus schedule for operating hours and fares.
