Car
If you're driving, start from Key West. Head northeast on US-1 N for about 20 miles. Continue following US-1 N until you reach Cudjoe Key. Take the exit for Cudjoe Key and merge onto Cudjoe Road. After about 1 mile, turn right onto 1st Ave W. The Great White Heron National Wildlife Refuge will be on your left at 20650 1st Ave W. Look for parking along the road.

For those using public transportation, take the Key West Transit bus service. Board the bus heading towards Marathon and get off at the Cudjoe Key stop. From there, it’s about a 1.5-mile walk. Head northeast on US-1 N and then turn onto Cudjoe Road. Walk along Cudjoe Road until you reach 1st Ave W, then turn right. The refuge will be on your left at 20650 1st Ave W.
