Car
To reach Boca Chita Lighthouse by car, start from US-1, the main highway that runs through the Florida Keys. If you're coming from Key West, head north on US-1 for approximately 30 miles until you reach the entrance of Biscayne National Park. Turn left onto Card Sound Road (County Road 905) and continue for about 10 miles. You will arrive at the entrance of the park. Note that there is a $30 vehicle entrance fee valid for 7 days. From the entrance, follow the signs to the Boca Chita Key boat launch area. Parking is available near the launch site.
Public Transportation
If you're relying on public transportation, you can take a Greyhound or a local bus service to Homestead, Florida. From Homestead, you will need a taxi or rideshare service to reach the entrance of Biscayne National Park. Once at the park, you will have to rent a boat or arrange for a guided boat tour to Boca Chita Key, as there are no direct public transport options to the lighthouse. Boat rentals in the park typically start at around $40 for a half-day rental.

For those who have access to their own boat or are renting one, navigate to Boca Chita Key using the coordinates 25.5247123, -80.1760815. The trip will take about 30 minutes from the mainland. Ensure you have a map or GPS for navigation, as there can be shallow waters in some areas. Upon arrival, you can dock at the designated area near the lighthouse and explore the surrounding park.
