The refuge is located along this road. Keep in mind that parking may be limited, so arrive early to secure a spot.

If you are utilizing public transportation, you will first need to take a bus or shuttle service that operates throughout the Florida Keys. The Florida Keys Shuttle offers services from Key West to various locations along the keys. You can catch the shuttle at designated stops or book in advance. Request to be dropped off at Cudjoe Key. From there, you may need to walk approximately 1 mile to reach the refuge, as there is limited public transport directly to the refuge. Be prepared for a short walk along 1st Avenue West.

For those who prefer cycling, bring your bike along or rent one at various locations in the Florida Keys. You can bike along US-1, following the shoulder. Once you reach Cudjoe Key, turn onto 1st Avenue West. The ride is about 8 miles from Key West to the refuge, and it offers beautiful views of the surrounding waters. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow safety guidelines, as some sections of the road may not have bike lanes.
