Public Bus
To get to Miami Beach from Fort Lauderdale using public transportation, start by heading to the Broward Central Terminal located at 101 NE 1st Ave, Fort Lauderdale. You can take the Broward County Transit bus route 1 towards Hallandale Beach. Stay on the bus for about 30 minutes, and get off at the stop at A1A and 17th Street in Fort Lauderdale. From there, transfer to the Miami-Dade Transit bus route S (South Beach Local) at the same stop. This bus will take you directly to Miami Beach. The entire journey may take around 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on the waiting times between transfers.
Water Taxi
Another scenic option is to take a water taxi from Fort Lauderdale to Miami Beach. Start at one of the water taxi stops in Fort Lauderdale, such as the Las Olas Riverfront. Purchase a ticket from the water taxi staff. The water taxi will take you along the Intracoastal Waterway, providing beautiful views of the waterfront homes and yachts. The ride to Miami Beach takes about 1 to 1.5 hours. Once you arrive at the Miami Beach stop, you can easily walk to the beach and nearby attractions.
Bicycle Rental
If you're feeling adventurous, you can rent a bicycle to ride to Miami Beach. Start from Fort Lauderdale Beach, head south on A1A (the coastal road). The ride is approximately 25 miles and can take about 2-3 hours depending on your pace. Follow the coastal route, and enjoy the scenery along the way. Once you reach the Miami Beach area, you can explore the famous Ocean Drive and the beautiful beaches. Make sure to follow bike lanes and paths for safety.
