Walking
If you're in downtown Fort Pierce, start by heading east on Avenue A towards the Indian River. Continue straight until you reach North 2nd Street. Turn left on North 2nd Street and walk until you reach the intersection with North Beach Boulevard. Turn right onto North Beach Boulevard. Continue walking north until you reach the intersection with Florida A1A. Turn left onto Florida A1A, and Avalon State Park will be a short walk down the road on the left side. Look for the park entrance.

From downtown Fort Pierce, bike east on Avenue A towards the Indian River. Continue on Avenue A until you reach North 2nd Street. Turn left and bike north on North 2nd Street until you hit North Beach Boulevard. Turn right and continue biking north on North Beach Boulevard. Once you reach Florida A1A, turn left and bike a little further down to find Avalon State Park on the left side. There are bike racks available at the park entrance.
