If you are in downtown Fort Pierce, start by heading east on Avenue A towards Indian River Drive. Once you reach Indian River Drive, turn left and walk north along the river until you reach Seaway Drive. Continue walking on Seaway Drive until you reach the intersection with Florida A1A. Turn right onto Florida A1A and follow it north. After about 2 miles, you will see the entrance to Avalon State Park on your left. The park is located at Florida A1A, Fort Pierce, FL 34949.

Bicycle
For those who prefer biking, start in downtown Fort Pierce and ride east on Avenue A to Indian River Drive. Turn left and continue north along the river. When you reach Seaway Drive, turn right and bike east. Follow Seaway Drive until it intersects with Florida A1A. Turn right onto Florida A1A and bike north for approximately 2 miles. The entrance to Avalon State Park will be on your left. Make sure to wear a helmet and use bike lanes where available.
