Lummus Park Historic District: A Gem of Miami's History

Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, head towards Lummus Park Historic District located at 404 NW 3rd St, Miami, FL 33128. From Ocean Drive, turn west onto 5th Street, then take a right onto Alton Road. Follow Alton Road until you reach 3rd Street, then turn left. The park will be on your left. There are several paid parking lots nearby, and street parking may also be available but may require a fee. Make sure to check for any parking restrictions.

• Public Transportation (Bus)

  To reach Lummus Park Historic District via public transportation, you can take the Miami Beach Bus. Board the South Beach Local (Route 123) at any of the designated stops along Collins Avenue or Washington Avenue. Stay on the bus until you reach the stop at 5th Street and Alton Road. From there, it’s a short walk: head west on 5th Street, then turn left onto 3rd Street, and you will arrive at the park. The bus fare is generally around $2.25 per ride.

• Public Transportation (Metrobus)

  You can also use the Metrobus service. Take the Metrobus Route 120 from various locations in Miami to the Miami Beach Convention Center. From the Convention Center, you can transfer to the South Beach Local (Route 123) heading south. Get off at the stop at 5th Street and Alton Road. Walk west on 5th Street, then turn left onto 3rd Street until you reach Lummus Park. The total fare is approximately $2.25.

• Walking

  If you are already in the vicinity, walking is a great option. From Ocean Drive, walk west on 5th Street until you reach Alton Road. Turn left and continue until you hit 3rd Street, then turn left again. Lummus Park Historic District will be on your left. This is a scenic walk, especially during sunset.
