Catch Route 61 (Gulf Breeze) which operates frequently throughout the day. Once you board, enjoy the scenic ride across the Pensacola Bay Bridge. After about 30 minutes, disembark at the Gulf Breeze Zoo stop. From there, it’s a short 10-minute walk to the Gulf Islands National Seashore. Head southeast on Zoo Parkway, then turn right onto J Earle Bowden Way. Continue walking until you see the entrance on your left.

  • Bicycle Rental

    If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from one of the local shops in downtown Pensacola. From there, head south on Palafox Street until you reach the bridge. Cross the Pensacola Bay Bridge, which offers a bike lane. Once across, continue straight onto J Earle Bowden Way. The Gulf Islands National Seashore entrance will be on your left. The ride takes approximately 40 minutes, providing beautiful views of the bay along the way.

    For those adventurous enough to walk, start at the Pensacola Bayfront Park. Walk east along the waterfront until you reach the bridge. Cross the Pensacola Bay Bridge on foot (note: ensure you are on the pedestrian walkway). Once you are on the other side, continue straight onto J Earle Bowden Way. It’s about a 1.5-mile walk from the bridge to the entrance of Gulf Islands National Seashore, which should take you about 30-40 minutes.
