Getting There

Walking
If you're starting from downtown Sarasota, head east on Main Street until you reach US-41/Tamiami Trail. Turn left onto US-41 and continue walking north for about 0.5 miles. Look for the sign for Ringling Bridge; this will be on your right. Cross the bridge to get to St. Armands Key. After crossing, continue straight onto John Ringling Blvd. Follow the road as it curves around and then turns into Ken Thompson Parkway. City Island will be on your left. The park entrance is clearly marked.

Public Transit (Bus)
From downtown Sarasota, you can take the Sarasota County Area Transit (SCAT) bus route 9, which goes towards Lido Beach. Board the bus at the nearest stop on Main Street. Stay on the bus for about 15 minutes and get off at the stop for Ken Thompson Parkway. From there, it's a short 10-minute walk: head south down Ken Thompson Parkway, and you will see City Island on your right.

Biking
If you have access to a bike, start from downtown Sarasota and make your way to the Legacy Trail. Head south on the Legacy Trail until you reach the intersection with US-41. Turn left onto US-41 and continue for about 1 mile. Turn right onto the Ringling Bridge, cross it, and then follow John Ringling Blvd as it turns into Ken Thompson Parkway. City Island will be on your left after crossing the bridge.
