    If you are driving from St. Petersburg Beach, start by heading east on Gulf Blvd toward 75th Ave. Continue straight for about 4 miles. Merge onto the I-275 N ramp toward Tampa. Stay on I-275 N for approximately 20 miles. Take exit 210B for US-41 S toward Sarasota. Merge onto US-41 S and follow it for about 6 miles. Turn right onto Fruitville Rd, then take a left onto Tamiami Trail S/US-41. Continue for about 3 miles, then turn left onto Ken Thompson Pkwy. City Island will be on your right within about 2 miles.

    Start at the nearest bus stop in St. Petersburg Beach. Take the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority (PSTA) Route 18 in the direction of St. Petersburg. Transfer at the St. Petersburg Intermodal Transit Center to the Sarasota County Area Transit (SCAT) Route 99. The Route 99 will take you towards Sarasota. Get off at the stop for US-41 and Ken Thompson Pkwy. From there, it is about a 15-minute walk to City Island. Head east on Ken Thompson Pkwy until you reach the entrance to City Island.
