Getting There

• Public Bus

  To reach Siesta Key from central Sarasota, you can take the SCAT bus (Sarasota County Area Transit). Look for Route 10, which goes directly to Siesta Key. Board the bus at any of the designated stops in Sarasota. Stay on the bus until you reach the Siesta Key Village stop. From there, it's a short walk to the beach area. Follow the signs to the beach, and you’ll be enjoying the beautiful sands in no time.

• Bicycle Rental

  If you prefer an active approach, consider renting a bicycle from one of the many rental shops in Sarasota. Start from downtown Sarasota and head south on Tamiami Trail. Follow the bike lanes, and make a left on Stickney Point Road. Continue straight until you reach the Siesta Key Bridge, and then follow the signs to the beach. The ride is approximately 8 miles, taking around 30-45 minutes, depending on your pace.

• Walking

  For a more scenic route, if you are staying near the beach, you can walk to Siesta Key. Start from your accommodation and head towards Ocean Boulevard. Follow the road south, enjoying the sights of the area. Once you reach the beach, you can find access points that will lead you directly to the sandy shores. This walk offers beautiful views but may take around an hour depending on your starting point.

• Ride Share (Uber/Lyft)

  If you prefer convenience, you can use a ride-sharing service like Uber or Lyft. Simply open the app on your smartphone and enter 'Siesta Key' as your destination. The driver will pick you up from your current location in Sarasota and take you directly to the beach. This option is quick and can be shared with others to save on costs.
