Getting There

• Car

  If you're travelling by car, start by getting onto I-75 South. Depending on where you're starting from in Southwest Florida, you may need to navigate local roads to reach I-75. Once on I-75, continue south until you reach Exit 191 for FL-776 toward Englewood. Take FL-776 west and follow the signs towards Englewood. After about 10 miles, turn right onto S River Rd. Continue on S River Rd for about 2 miles, and Myakka State Forest will be on your left at 2000 S River Rd, Englewood, FL 34223. Parking is available on-site, but there may be a small entrance fee of $6 per car.

  If you prefer public transportation, you can take a bus through the Sarasota County Area Transit (SCAT) system. Start by locating the nearest SCAT bus stop and take Bus Route 17 towards Englewood. Transfer to Bus Route 22 at the Englewood transfer station. This route will take you close to Myakka State Forest. However, once you get off the bus, you will need to walk approximately 1.5 miles to reach the entrance at 2000 S River Rd.
