From the historic district of St. Augustine, start at the Castillo de San Marcos National Monument. Head north on Avenida Menendez toward the Bridge of Lions. Cross the bridge, which will take you over the Matanzas River. Once you reach the other side, continue straight onto Vilano Beach Road. Follow this road until you see the beach entrance on your right. It is about a 1.5-mile walk and should take approximately 30 minutes.

If you have access to a bicycle, you can rent one from a local shop in St. Augustine. Start from the Plaza de la Constitución and head north on St. George Street until you reach the intersection with Avenida Menendez. Turn right and ride along the waterfront until you reach the Bridge of Lions. Cross the bridge and continue north on Vilano Beach Road. It is approximately a 2-mile ride and should take around 10-15 minutes.
