Continue on US-41 S until you reach the intersection with FL-674 W (also known as Shell Point Rd). Turn left onto FL-674 W and continue for approximately 5 miles. After that, turn right onto Gulf City Rd. Continue on Gulf City Rd for about 1 mile, and you will find the entrance to Cockroach Bay Aquatic Preserve on your left at 3839 Gulf City Rd, Ruskin, FL 33570. There is no entrance fee for the preserve, but ensure your vehicle has enough fuel for the journey.

For those using public transportation, you can take a bus from your location in Sun Coast to the nearest bus stop along US-41. Check the local transit authority's schedule for the best route; typically, you may need to transfer buses to get to the Ruskin area. Once you arrive near the intersection of US-41 and FL-674 W, you’ll need to walk approximately 1 mile along Gulf City Rd to reach Cockroach Bay Aquatic Preserve. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and carry water, as this part requires walking. Keep in mind that public transportation may take longer depending on the schedule.
