Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are in Hyde Park, start your journey by heading east on W Platt St toward S Howard Ave. Continue straight for about 0.5 miles until you reach S Howard Ave. Turn left onto S Howard Ave and walk north for about 0.2 miles until you reach W Bay St. Here, you will see the scenic views of the waterfront. Turn right onto W Bay St and continue walking for about 0.3 miles. You will eventually reach Water St. Turn left on Water St, and the Tampa Bay History Center will be on your right at 801 Water St.

    To reach the Tampa Bay History Center via public transportation, locate the nearest bus stop for the HART (Hillsborough Area Regional Transit) buses. You can take the #1 or #7 bus towards Downtown Tampa. Board the bus and ride until you reach the stop at 'Franklin St @ Jackson St.' from there, it is a short walk. Head south on Franklin St for two blocks, then turn left onto Water St. The Tampa Bay History Center will be ahead on your right at 801 Water St. Note: Bus fare is approximately $2.00 for a one-way ticket.
