Domaine Jean Sipp is a historic Alsatian winery located in the heart of Ribeauvillé, one of the oldest medieval towns in Alsace. The Sipp family's involvement in viticulture dates back to the 17th century, and since the 1950s, the domaine has established a reputation for producing high-quality wines that reflect the region's unique terroirs. The estate's vineyards encompass 24 hectares across 50 plots in five communes, including parcels within the prestigious Grand Cru terroirs of Kirchberg de Ribeauvillé, Osterberg, and Altenberg de Bergheim. The varied soil composition, including marls, limestones, and sandstones, contributes to the complexity and character of the wines. The unique Clos Ribeaupierre, a small vineyard with slopes reaching up to 40%, has a rich history, having belonged to the lords of Ribeauvillé in the Middle Ages. Jean-Guillaume Sipp has managed the estate since 2014, following experience with renowned names such as Zind-Humbrecht and Olivier Leflaive. Domaine Jean Sipp achieved HVE 3 (High Environmental Value) certification in 2019, demonstrating its commitment to environmentally friendly practices. The estate is known for its Riesling and Muscat wines, as well as Pinot Gris. The wines are known for their complex aromas and balance.
