The Scenic Charm of Promenade de Reculée

Getting There

• Walking

  If you are starting from the Angers Saint-Laud Train Station, exit the station and head west down Rue de la Gare. Continue straight until you reach Place de la République. From there, take Rue du Mail and follow it as it becomes Rue de la Rochefoucauld. After a few minutes, you will reach the intersection with Boulevard Foch. Cross the boulevard and continue along Rue des Lices. Eventually, this street will lead you to Promenade de Reculée, which runs adjacent to the river. Look for the signs pointing towards the promenade, and you'll soon find yourself at this scenic spot.

• Public Transport

  From Angers city center (Place de la République), you can take Tram Line A towards the station 'Angers - Avrillé'. Get off at the stop 'Saint-Jacques'. From there, walk down Rue Saint-Jacques until you reach Rue du Petit Chêne. Turn left onto Rue du Petit Chêne, and continue straight until you reach the intersection with Promenade de Reculée. The promenade is a short walk from this intersection, and you'll be greeted by beautiful views along the river.

• Biking

  If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the many bike-sharing stations in Angers. Start from Place du Ralliement and head towards Avenue Jean Jaurès. Continue straight until you reach Boulevard Foch. Turn left onto Boulevard Foch and then right onto Rue des Lices. This will lead you directly to Promenade de Reculée. The ride is scenic and takes approximately 15-20 minutes, depending on your pace.
