The original castle was destroyed during the French Revolution but was rebuilt under the First Empire and restored in 1875 in the Louis XIII style.In 1985, Count and Countess Bernard de Colbert, descendants of Louis XIII's Chancellor of the Exchequer, acquired the château. Since 2003, their daughter and son-in-law have managed the estate, blending modern techniques with traditional winemaking. From the Caychac Bourg bus stop, it is a short 400-meter walk to the château. Alternatively, take tram Line C to Gare de Blanquefort, then transfer to bus Line 29 to Caychac Bourg. A single bus or tram fare is approximately €1.60.
