If you're starting at the Avignon Central Train Station (Gare d'Avignon Centre), exit the station and head north on Rue de la République. Continue straight for about 1 kilometer (approximately 12 minutes on foot) until you reach Place de l'Horloge, a popular square with cafes and shops. From there, turn right onto Rue Joseph Vernet, which leads directly to the entrance of the Palais des Papes. As you approach the Palais, you will see the impressive walls of the Remparts d'Avignon. You can enter the ramparts from various points around the Palais.
