Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from the Avignon Central Train Station (Gare d'Avignon Centre), exit the station and head southeast toward Rue de la République. Walk along Rue de la République, which is a major street filled with shops and cafes. Continue straight for about 15 minutes until you reach the Place de l'Horloge, a large square filled with restaurants and street performers. From Place de l'Horloge, walk towards the Palais des Papes (Palace of the Popes). Once you reach the Palais des Papes, you will see an entrance to the gardens. Walk through the gardens towards the left side, and follow the signs leading to the Cathedral. The Avignon Cathedral is located on the Place du Palais, just beside the Palace of the Popes.

  • Public Transport

    If you prefer to use public transport, take bus line 3 from the Avignon Central Train Station towards the 'Les Angles - La Cigale' stop. It takes about 10 minutes. Get off at the 'Palais des Papes' stop. From there, you can easily walk to Avignon Cathedral which is just a 5-minute walk away. Follow the signs towards the Palais des Papes, and the Cathedral is adjacent to it on Place du Palais.
