Walking
Start your journey at the Avignon Central Train Station (Gare d'Avignon Centre). Exit the station and head south on Rue de la République toward Place de l'Horloge, the main square in Avignon. Once at the square, continue straight onto Rue de la République until you reach the Palais des Papes (Palace of the Popes). From there, follow the signs to the Pont Saint-Bénézet (the famous bridge). Cross the bridge and head towards Villeneuve-lès-Avignon. After crossing the bridge, take the first right onto Rue de la République, which will lead you into Villeneuve-lès-Avignon. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Rue Mnt du Fort. Turn left onto Rue Mnt du Fort and follow it until you see Fort Saint-André ahead on your right.
Bus
From the Avignon Central Train Station, walk to the nearest bus stop, which is located just outside the station. Take Bus Line 5 towards Villeneuve-lès-Avignon. The bus ride will take approximately 15 minutes. Get off at the 'Fort Saint-André' stop. Once you exit the bus, you will see Fort Saint-André directly ahead. Follow the signs leading to the entrance of the fort.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the many rental shops in Avignon. Start your ride from the center of Avignon and head towards the Pont Saint-Bénézet. Cross the bridge and continue straight to Villeneuve-lès-Avignon. Follow the bike paths along the riverbank, and take Rue Mnt du Fort toward the fort. The ride should take about 15-20 minutes and offers beautiful views of the Rhône River.
