The castle is a short, uphill walk from the main square, Place du Général de Gaulle, and is visible from most points in the town center. Follow the signs towards 'Château'. The walk takes approximately 5-10 minutes from the town center.
Public Transport
If arriving by train at Vitré station, exit the station and walk straight ahead towards the town center. You can either walk (10-15 minutes) or take a local bus (Line 1 or 2) from the bus stop just outside the station to the Place du Général de Gaulle. From there, follow the walking directions to the castle. A single bus fare costs approximately €1.50.
