Getting There

• Public Bus

  From the center of Caen, head to the Caen bus station located at Gare Routière. Take bus line 30, which is headed towards Ouistreham. Ensure you check the bus schedule as it may vary. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Ouistreham bus stop, walk towards the beach by following the signs that direct you to Boulevard Aristide Briand. The beach will be directly ahead, just a short walk from the bus stop.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle from one of the bike rental shops in Caen. Start your journey from the city center and follow the signs towards Ouistreham. The route primarily follows the scenic Canal de Caen à la Mer, which makes for a pleasant ride. It is roughly 15 kilometers and takes about 45 minutes to an hour. Once you reach Ouistreham, continue to Boulevard Aristide Briand to find the beach.

• Walking

  For the adventurous walker, the distance from Caen to Ouistreham is about 15 kilometers. Start your walk from Caen's city center, heading east towards the Canal de Caen à la Mer. Follow the canal path, which will lead you directly to Ouistreham. The walk may take around 3 to 4 hours, so ensure you wear comfortable shoes and bring water. Upon reaching Ouistreham, head towards Boulevard Aristide Briand where Ouistreham plage is located.
