Driving
From Passy, follow the D43 towards Plaine-Joux. During the summer (mid-June to mid-September), parking is restricted near Lac Vert to protect the environment. Park at the large Plaine-Joux parking lot. From there, you can either take a free shuttle bus to Lac Vert (available in July and August) or walk for about 30 minutes along a fairly easy trail. Outside of the peak season, it may be possible to drive closer to Lac Vert, but check local restrictions beforehand. Parking at Plaine-Joux costs €3 per day for cars.
Public Transport
From Sallanches or Passy Plaine-Joux, take bus line Y85 to the 'Plaine-Joux' stop. From there, follow the signs for Lac Vert, either taking the free shuttle (July and August) or walking for approximately 30 minutes. Bus fares vary depending on the origin, but expect to pay around €2-€4 for a single trip.
Walking
If you choose to walk from Plaine-Joux parking, follow the well-marked trail towards Lac Vert. The walk is approximately 30 minutes and offers scenic views. Be aware that the path can be uneven in places. In winter, access on foot or snowshoes only, parking at Passy Plaine Joux parking lot compulsory.
