Walking
Place du Poilu is centrally located in Chamonix and easily accessible on foot from most points in the town center. From Place du Mont Blanc, walk east along Avenue Michel Croz, then turn right onto Rue Whymper. The park will be on your left. The walk is short and straightforward, taking only a few minutes. Keep an eye out for signs pointing towards the town hall (Mairie), as the park is nearby.
Public Transport
The nearest bus stop is 'Place du Mont-Blanc'. From there, follow the walking directions above. Chamonix's local buses are free to use with a guest card ('carte d'hôte'), which is typically provided by your accommodation. Without a guest card, a single ticket costs approximately €2-3. Driving
If driving, head towards the center of Chamonix. Limited short-term paid parking is available directly at 'Parking du Poilu' next to the park (Rue Whymper). Parking is free for less than 30 minutes, but expect to pay around €0.60 for 45 minutes, and €17.50 for 24 hours. Alternatively, several other parking lots are within a short walking distance, such as Parking Saint-Michel. Be aware that parking in Chamonix can be challenging, especially during peak season.
