Walking
The Montenvers Railway station is located at 35 Place de la Mer de Glace, in the center of Chamonix. From the Chamonix SNCF train station, it's less than a 10-minute walk. Exit the train station and cross the outdoor footbridge to reach the Montenvers train station directly. Alternatively, from the Chamonix Sud bus station, it's also about a 10-minute walk. Follow the signs towards the town center and the Montenvers train station. There are several parking options near the Montenvers station, including the Parking des Planards (paid) and the Parking souterrain Centre Ville (paid). Parking des Planards charges approximately €0.30 / 15 min, with a daily rate of around €12. The underground parking is about €2 for 1h to 1h15 and €22 for 24 hours.
Public Transport
If arriving by bus within the Chamonix valley, use the Chamonix Mobilité bus network. The nearest bus stop to the Montenvers Railway is 'Chamonix Gare', which is a short walk from the station. With the 'Carte d'Hôte', provided by your accommodation, the bus is free within the valley (between Servoz and Vallorcine).
