Walking
From the Freiburg Hauptbahnhof (main train station), head east along Eisenbahnstraße. Turn right onto Friedrichring, then left onto Leopoldring. The Stadtgarten will be on your right, across from Karlsplatz. The walk is approximately 15 minutes and well-signposted. Alternatively, from the Altstadt (Old Town), cross Karlsplatz and enter the Stadtgarten via the main entrance.
Public Transport
Several tram lines stop near the Stadtgarten. Take tram line 1 to the 'Bertoldsbrunnen' stop, then walk east along Leopoldring for about 5 minutes. Alternatively, take tram line 4 to the 'Stadttheater' stop, then walk north along Jacob-Burckhardt-Straße. A single tram fare within Freiburg (Zone A) costs €2.20.
Taxi/Ride-Share
A taxi or ride-share from the Freiburg Hauptbahnhof to the Stadtgarten will take approximately 5-10 minutes, depending on traffic. Expect to pay around €8-€12. Ask to be dropped off at the Jacob-Burckhardt-Straße/Leopoldring intersection.
Driving
Driving directly to the Stadtgarten is possible, but parking can be limited. Several parking garages are located nearby, including the 'Schlossberggarage' and 'Unterlinden'.
