Walking
If you are starting from the Freiburg Hauptbahnhof (main train station), exit the station and head towards Bismarckallee. Walk straight for about 10 minutes until you reach the intersection with Kaiser-Joseph-Straße. Turn left onto Kaiser-Joseph-Straße and continue walking for another 5 minutes. You will pass various shops and cafes along the way. Continue to follow Kaiser-Joseph-Straße until you reach Augustinerplatz. From there, take the street Jacob-Burckhardt-Straße, which is on the right side of the square. Gedenksäule is located at Jacob-Burckhardt-Straße 19, just a short walk down this street.

From Freiburg Hauptbahnhof, take tram line 1 towards 'Littenweiler' or tram line 3 towards 'Vauban'. Get off at the stop 'Schlossberg' (approximately a 5-minute ride). Once you exit the tram, walk in the direction of the castle. Follow the signs leading to the old town (Altstadt) and head towards Augustinerplatz. From Augustinerplatz, take the street Jacob-Burckhardt-Straße, which is on the right side of the square. Gedenksäule is located at Jacob-Burckhardt-Straße 19.

If you have rented a bicycle, start from the city center and head towards the university area. Ride along the pedestrian and bicycle paths on Bertoldstraße, which will lead you to the old town. Continue straight until you reach Augustinerplatz. From Augustinerplatz, take the street Jacob-Burckhardt-Straße. Gedenksäule is located at Jacob-Burckhardt-Straße 19, and there are bike racks nearby for parking.
