Discover more about Aquarium Trégastel

The Aquarium Trégastel is a captivating marine experience set within the heart of Brittany's famed Pink Granite Coast. Housed in caves formed over 300 million years ago, the aquarium boasts a unique setting, with the roof of its first hall located beneath a single 5,500-ton block of pink granite. Originally, the site served various purposes, including a chapel, a dwelling, and even a munitions depot during World War II, before becoming an aquarium in 1967. Renovated in 2006, the aquarium now invites visitors to discover the local underwater fauna through three distinct zones: the Embrun Zone, the Tidal Zone, and the Zone of Depths. These zones showcase the diverse habitats and marine creatures found along the English Channel, from lobsters and bass to rays and seahorses. An interactive exhibit explains the tide phenomenon. At the end of your visit, ascend to the summit of the site, near the statue of the 'Père Éternel' (Eternal Father), for panoramic views of the Pink Granite Coast.
