Car
If you are driving from Besançon, take the A36 highway towards Montbéliard. After approximately 40 km, take exit 5 for the N57 towards Pontarlier. Continue on the N57 for about 30 km until you reach Métabief. Follow the signs for Métabief, and as you enter the town, you will see signs directing you to parking areas.
Public Transportation
To get to Métabief by public transport, start your journey at the Besançon Viotte train station. Take a train towards Pontarlier, and after about 40 minutes, arrive at Pontarlier station. From there, you can take a regional bus (Ligne 21) that goes directly to Métabief. The bus ride takes approximately 30 minutes. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance to ensure timely connections.
Car
From the city of Lausanne in Switzerland, head north on the A1 motorway towards Geneva. At the junction, take the A40 towards Chamonix. After approximately 20 km, merge onto the A39 towards Dole. Continue for about 60 km and take exit 6 for the N57 towards Pontarlier. Follow the N57 for around 20 km, and you will reach Métabief. Look for parking signposts as you approach the town.
Public Transportation
If you are coming from Dijon, take a train from Dijon Ville station to Besançon. This journey takes about an hour. Once in Besançon, transfer to a train heading to Pontarlier. After arriving at Pontarlier, use the regional bus service (Ligne 21) to Métabief. Ensure to confirm the bus timetable ahead of your travel.
