Car
If you are traveling by car, you can take the A36 motorway, which connects major cities in the region. From Besançon, head east on the A36 towards Mulhouse. After approximately 20 kilometers, take exit 4 for N57 towards Pontarlier. Follow the N57 until you reach the Montagnes du Jura region. Ensure you have a GPS or map as some areas may have limited signage.
Public Transportation
To travel by public transportation, start at the Besançon train station (Gare de Besançon Viotte). Take a regional train (TER) heading towards Pontarlier. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Upon arriving in Pontarlier, you can take a local bus (Line 1) to the Montagnes du Jura area. Be sure to check the local bus schedule for times and connections. A train ticket from Besançon to Pontarlier costs approximately €10.
