Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from the Grenoble train station (Gare de Grenoble), exit the station and head south on Rue de la République. Continue straight until you reach Place de la Gare. From there, take a left onto Rue de la Liberté. Walk straight until you arrive at Place Victor Hugo. At this square, you can see the large fountain. Continue walking straight on Rue de la Liberté, which becomes Rue de la République. After a few minutes, you will reach Place de Lavalette. The Musée de Grenoble is located at 5 Place de Lavalette, directly in front of you.

  • Public Transport - Tram

    If you prefer to take public transport, from the Grenoble train station, walk to the tram stop 'Gare' located just outside the station. Take Tram line A in the direction of 'Échirolles - La Mairie' and get off at the 'Victor Hugo' stop. From the tram stop, walk towards Place Victor Hugo and then continue straight on Rue de la Liberté until you reach Place de Lavalette. The museum is located at 5 Place de Lavalette, just a short walk from the tram stop.

    From the city center, you can also take bus line 12. Board the bus at the nearest stop and ride it until you reach the 'Bachelard' stop. From there, you can walk towards the museum. Head east on Rue Bachelard, then take a right onto Rue de la Liberté. Continue straight until you arrive at Place de Lavalette. The Musée de Grenoble will be on your left at 5 Place de Lavalette.
