Getting There

• Bus

  From the city center of La Rochelle, walk to the 'Gare Routière' (Bus Station) located at 14 Rue de la Gare. At the station, take the bus line 3 towards 'Saint-Hilaire-la-Palud'. The bus ride will take approximately 50 minutes. You will need to get off at the stop 'Le Petit Buisson'. From the bus stop, walk towards the Parc Ornithologique, which should be clearly signposted. The park is a short 5-minute walk from the bus stop.

• Train and Bus

  Start by walking to La Rochelle Ville train station. Once at the station, board a train heading to 'Niort'. The train journey will take around 30 minutes. Upon arriving at the Niort train station, transfer to the local bus service (line 1) towards 'Saint-Hilaire-la-Palud'. After approximately 30 minutes on the bus, disembark at 'Le Petit Buisson'. The Parc Ornithologique is within a short walking distance from the bus stop.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from one of the bike-sharing stations in La Rochelle. Follow the cycle path towards 'Saint-Hilaire-la-Palud', which is approximately 25 km away. The route is well marked, and you will enjoy scenic views along the way. Once you arrive in Saint-Hilaire-la-Palud, follow the signs to 'Le Petit Buisson' where the Parc Ornithologique is located.

• Walking

  If you are feeling adventurous and up for a long walk, you can walk directly from La Rochelle to the Parc Ornithologique, which is about 25 km away. Start by heading south towards the D137 road. Follow this road for approximately 25 kilometers, which will take you through beautiful countryside. Once you reach Saint-Hilaire-la-Palud, look for signs directing you to 'Le Petit Buisson'. This option may take several hours, so ensure you have enough time and supplies.
