Getting There

  • Bus

    From La Rochelle city center, head to the bus station (Gare Routière). Take the bus line 'Ile de Ré' which goes towards Saint-Georges-de-Rex. Make sure to check the schedule as they may vary. After approximately 30 minutes, get off at the stop 'Saint-Georges-de-Rex'. From the bus stop, walk along Rue du Moulin for about 5 minutes, and you will see Parc Du Coq à l'Âne on your left.

    Rent a bicycle from one of the many rental shops in La Rochelle. Head east towards Avenue de la République, and then take the bike path that leads you out of the city towards the countryside. Follow the signs for Saint-Georges-de-Rex. The ride is approximately 10 kilometers and should take around 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive in Saint-Georges-de-Rex, continue on Rue du Moulin until you reach Parc Du Coq à l'Âne.

    If you're feeling adventurous and have a good pair of walking shoes, you can walk to Parc Du Coq à l'Âne. Start from the city center of La Rochelle and head southeast on Rue de la Chaîne. Continue straight until you reach Avenue de la République, where you will take a left. Follow this road out of the city towards Saint-Georges-de-Rex. The total distance is approximately 12 kilometers, which may take about 2-3 hours depending on your pace. Once you reach Saint-Georges-de-Rex, turn onto Rue du Moulin and the park will be on your left.
