Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Lille, head towards the Lille Europe train station. Exit the station and walk straight onto Rue de Tournai. Continue straight until you reach Place de la République. From there, take Rue de l'Hôpital Militaire and walk towards the Metro station 'République - Beaux Arts'. Take Metro Line 1 towards 'Lille Grand Palais' and get off at 'Gare Lille Flandres'. Exit the station and head towards the main square, Place Charles de Gaulle. From there, walk straight towards the Rue de la Monnaie and continue until you reach the Palais des Beaux-Arts. From there, head south on Rue de la Monnaie until you reach Place de la République, then turn left onto Rue de Tournai and continue straight until you reach Heroes Square in Arras, which is approximately 45 minutes from central Lille.

    From Lille Flandres station, take a train to Arras. The train ride takes around 25-30 minutes. Upon arrival at Arras train station, exit the station and walk towards the town center. Head straight on Rue de Douai, which will lead you directly to Heroes Square. The square is approximately a 10-minute walk from the train station.

  • Bicycle

    If you're renting a bicycle in Lille, start at the city center and head towards the Canal de la Deûle. Follow the canal path which will take you out of Lille and towards Arras. The bike ride is approximately 20 km and will take about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Once you reach Arras, follow the signs to the historic center to find Heroes Square.
